Welcome to the Northwest Indiana Dental Society

The Northwest Indiana Dental Society (NIDS) is a non-profit professional organization for member dentists in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties. NIDS is a local component of the tripartite association of the Indiana Dental Association and the American Dental Association. NIDS provides monthly continuing education meetings throughout the year, access to community service, leadership opportunities, a voice for legislative advocacy in organized dentistry, and a fostering of professional and personal relationships.

Recent Events:

The NIDS members traveled to French Lick in May for the Midwest Dental Assembly meetings. Many awards were given, delegates voted on dental issues and money was raised to support IDPAC initiatives (Indiana Dental Political Action Committee). The theme of this years' IDPAC auction was the Kentucky Derby. Thank you to these dentists for taking time from their schedules to help the statewide dental community!

Gamba AI Discussion, January 17, 2024

We hosted a wonderful event on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 at Gamba Ristorante. The Chicago Dental Society gave an update about the upcoming Midwinter Meetings; we gave 4 deserving hygiene and assisting students from IUN scholarships and listened to an engaging presentation about artificial intelligence and how it affects all facets of our life from our own Dr. L. Eric Pulver. Great food and interesting conversations were had by all.

Congratulations to our NIDS scholarship winners. Pictured left to right: Dr. Carolyn Gardiner, NIDS President; Hygienist Paige Wisner; Hygienist Katelyn Orcutt; Assistant Katelyn Ley; Assistant Makayla Lamp; Dr. Steve Holm, Scholarship Chairman, NIDS Board Member.

Thank you to all that could attend and also to our sponsors IndepenDent Dental Solutions; Old National Bank and Core Scientific.
